L.A.'s Fil-Am Poet, Photographer, Artist: Ryan Jesena Goes Out of the Comfort Zone

(Ryan's photo collage entitled: "Me, Myself. And.I")

By Ryan Jesena:

Photography is about capturing moments that occur in the random streams of reality, where the interaction between our environment, it's people, and the elements interact in a way that is both unique, special, and beautiful. It's about freezing time for a fraction of a second and capturing the one moment no one will ever see again. I love discovering the remarkable situation in everyday life.

(Ryan Jesena's Black & White artphoto entitled: "Breakthrough"
After hours of dust storms, the sun broke through the clouds )

Pointing a lens at friends and total strangers evokes a sense of curiosity and trepidation. Sometimes the subject breaks into a smile, and other times into a threatening glare, either way, it's totally random, beautiful, and unrepeatable. It's life.

My photographs have apeared in Max Magazine, LAist, LATACO, Shmap Map of Las Vegas, L.A. Art Walk, L.A. Decompression, and Broowaha Los Angeles.

(Ryan Jesena also published a collection of poems in a book titled "In The Blink Of An I" available at your nearest bookstore or online.)
